In 2018, our 5 founders (Tim, Lena, Simon, Fabian, and Jannis) turned a bachelor's thesis into a company: air up. The following year, the first air up bottles and 5 flavor pods were launched on the German market, selling out immediately. Within just 6 weeks, 80,000 starter sets were gone.

The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 transformed us into a company focused on remote working. During this time, our journey also expanded into new markets, with sales beginning in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.

2021 saw our market entry in Switzerland, Italy, and the UK. To produce our products closer to our customers and shorten delivery routes, we opened two new warehouses in France and the UK.

The journey continued in 2022, as the USA and Sweden were introduced to air up. We launched our Steel Bottles and hosted an unforgettable summer party, welcoming special guest Anja Blacha, the youngest German woman to have climbed all seven thousand-metre peaks.

Since 2023, all our Tritan bottles have been produced in Austria, and we've opened a new pod production facility in Holland. We've also launched our new Gen 2 bottles, made from 50% certified recycled materials and featuring a new ActiveOn mouthpiece.

In 2024, we expanded our market presence to Spain, making our products available in 14 European countries and the USA. We constantly update our product portfolio, introducing new bottle colors and pod flavors.
